Although I will say that back in early 2004 I was feeling kinda good (new GF, new house, new job) and had just finished up playing the hell out of a copy of the Doom3 Beta so after wrapping that I went to the local big box store and bought two games that fine Spring day; Freelancer and EVE. Needless to say I put off even cracking the box on EVE until early 2005 because I was totally rapt with Freelance. Man that was a cool game! Go (joystick) pilot my ship through some serious pew pew (sadly it was all PvE) blowing up pirates and raiders to return to the station, jump on the dockside(WiS) and wander to the nearest bar to lay down some moves on that one NPC woman (Jun'ko Zane) handing me out missions in a futile attempt to chase her into bed and actually get a screen with that vision, yeah like Microsoft (the publisher) would ever allow MA content like GTA, etc.
Anyway, the dream of flying a heavily speed-tanked Dram or Crow all joystick style looping through the battlefield of EVE littered with still burning wreaks, C-beams glittering in the dark off the forward bow near the Tannh+ņuser Gate, and asteroids hurtling towards you is and always will be an impossible and forgotten dream that CCP will not ever understand or achieve. Meh, just close your eyes while you're in the heat of battle so we can blow you up and take your stuffz! <- is this all there is to EVE?

I did say "meh" in there at the end and I wasn't specifically supporting the OP, just reminiscing of days gone by. It's okay to read between the lines sometimes. |

Tyranis Marcus wrote:On a related, but potentially derailing note, it'd be really nice to have the camera view angle tied to the ship rather than to space, also. Like if I turn my camera to look to the left while I'm orbiting something, my camera keeps looking to the left of my ship as I orbit, instead of maintaining it's direction of view in space and rotating around my ship so that I have to keep adjusting it if I want to look at my target. I've always thought that CCP's explanation for this graphical behavior through the use of "Camera Drones" a tad bit odd and corny. If technology is advanced enough in the future I could see a scenario that the ships on-board sensors would be sufficient enough in conjunction with the ships computer to generate an omniscient 360 degree view of the space surrounding the vessel.
The EVE community is so diverse and varied that for CCP to satisfy us all; EVE would need to have every feature ever thought of, however then it would cease to be a game, because at that point it would be reality.

There is no deeper emergent ecosystem in all of online gaming as there is in the universe that is EVE Online. Here we live, pay taxes and die and then live another day to live and die and pay... To Live and Die in New Eden is both a curse and a blessing.
The main reason there needs to be new hauler is so that we can buy them, pay taxes on the stuff we sell that we hauled in them and then die in them at the hands of low-sec pirate gankers, come'on CCP you know this is the right thing to do - GO NEW HAULERS.
EVE's eco-system exists because CCP wills it to exist after careful listening and consideration from the players, what other MMO on Earth does that? Hint: Nulli Alia
